Transcript – 6 Ways That Online Marketing Can Grow Your Business
One of the questions I get asked regularly is how can I grow my online business quickly?
Now, working with Andrew at The Nicest Guys In Marketing this is something we coach daily.
So I thought I’d put this quick video together with Six tips to growing your business online.
One of the biggest pushbacks that we get most days or most weeks is that online, marketing can be expensive.
So now this is where many businesses I feel, rely on word of mouth to promote their business.
They go to networking groups, well, this is fine, it can be highly effective but it takes a while, quite of hard work and it does certainly doesn’t help with your immediate cash flow.
But here’s the thing.
Online marketing can deliver impressive, impressive results on a small budget if planned and executed Well so I would say the seven P’s Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance
That’s seven and that is a tongue twister!
Let’s look at the ways we can grow your business through online marketing.
Track Your Return on Investment (ROI)
Now Number one is to vital important track your return on investment or your ROI accurately.
Now, if you look at traditional marketing such as in print media or billboards advertisements, it’s difficult to attribute the sale to any marketing platform. I mean, if you take the example of billboards, do you know which sites around the city worked. Which site drove traffic?
With online marketing, you can track your ROI using tools such as Google Analytics.
You should have your Facebook pixel installed. Or, if you’re running Google ads, you’d have your Google tag installed or any other of the major TAGS that are out there to track now.
Of course, if you selling products on your site, it is relatively easy to track your conversions.
But if you’re a coach and maybe you’re inviting people onto an initial sales call or a Discovery call, this could be a little trickier to track, but so worth it, it’s something that you really should be doing. It just might be a bit more of a manual process but you will quickly be able to use your ROI to see which channel is working on that way you keep your costs.
Making Quick Sales and Profits
Now Number two is making quick sales and profits.
Now you can use Pay click marketing OR social media marketing to achieve this.
Now, of course, your ads will then be potentially shown when someone searches for your chosen keyword(s), or in the case of social media marketing on Facebook if they fit your audience.
So whilst there is the potential for quick profits, there is also a risk of heavy losses.
So if you don’t set up your ads effectively and you are new to PPC I would advise you to seek the advice of an expert in PPC or social media marketing.
Promoting your services for free.
But, hey, how much in life is free? Search engine optimization or SEO comes under this term.
I feel it’s often, a more long-term approach, but it can be highly effective.
Of course, I said free, while this approach can be free, it’s time-consuming so that has its costs and it can be a competitive market. Many companies and individuals hire SEO experts to get their websites to climb the rankings.
Of course, your website also needs to do a good job at converting any visitors into sales so this is something that you need to keep your eye on as well.
Your Website
Your website should be there 24 / 7. If you use a cheap hosting provider it could be up and down like a yo-yo.
But that’s another video for another day, So if your organic and paid advertising is working and your website is always online, then you’re converting customers whilst you sleep, which is fantastic!
Now, this is especially important if you have a loyal customer base as those old customers will keep coming back to purchase from you,
don’t forget to target multiple devices.
Don’t Forget To Target Multiple Devices
Most people, of course, are now using mobile phones to access the internet and apps such as Facebook. Most people watching this video will be on a mobile phone. However, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be targeting desktop or tablet users. Plenty of people still use desktop, I mean, I’ll be doing a quick edit to this video at some point today on a desktop or a laptop. So just make sure your landing pages are set up for both users as well as the adverts.
Always watch your ROI, you should always look back to see which channels convert. If one is unprofitable, turn it off or maybe tweak it.
Don’t Think Local!
If your local company, you need to start thinking of yourself as a global company. If, of course, your products or services translate into a global market, now with online marketing the world’s your oyster everyone is in your backyard effectively. If you’re offering lends itself to translation and you can offer your products in other languages then your marketplace is even bigger.
So the Net offers almost endless opportunities for your business. So with online marketing, you can build an audience, engage with potential customers, make a huge amount of sales and enjoy more time off and create bigger profits.
So that’s my message for today.
Online marketing.
Don’t dismiss it.
It’s not always expensive and it can be incredibly profitable.
